What is Slack Wax
Slack wax is the by-product of the base oil refinery process which is a mixture of oil and wax. Slack wax is fed into the system as raw material which is finally processed into different grades of paraffin wax after performing the refining processes, de-oiling and bleaching.

Slack wax is naturally brown in color and depending on the viscosity of the lube oil being de-waxed it is categorized in two types of light and heavy. In light grades the melting point is 50-52˚C where in light grades the melting point is 53-55˚C is the heavy grade and their oil content ranges from 5.0% to 35%.
Usually light slack wax is processed for production of fully-refined paraffin wax which can be used in cosmetics and food industries while heavy slack Wax is usually processed into semi-refined paraffin wax which contains higher weight percentage of oil and applicable in candles, rubbers, adhesive, hot melts and ink industries.

Applications: this product is used as blending components or waterproofing agent in the manufacturing of various industrial products such as candles, polishes, matches, inks, carbon paper and externally can be applied as good dust suppressants or controlled-release agents for various chemical and fertilizers.
Light Slack Wax:
Light slack wax is yellow or light brown color, easily melt-able product. The melting point is about 57°C. Slack wax light grade is most commonly used in wax emulsions, as binders and water-proofing in artificial woods, matches, jar candles, rust protection products, industrial lubricants, arena footing, surf protection and fireplace products.
Heavy Slack Wax:
Heavy slack wax contains higher melting and congealing points. The slack wax heavy grade is darker than the light grade and melting point is up to 68°C. Slack wax heavy grade is mostly used in wax emulsions as binders, water-proofing in artificial woods, matches, jar candles, rust protection products, industrial lubricants and surf protection, polishing boards, cable filling, paraffin wax and PVC industries.
Applications:
· Waterproof fabric and industrial paper
· Industrial waxes
· Solid inks copy paper
· Matches production
